Happy 1st Birthday In Heaven Momma
Frances G. Matthews, my grandmother, passed away February 3, 2012, at the age of 83. Today August 19, 2012 she would have turned 84. I didn’t realize how much not celebrating with her would hurt. I was hesitating but I decided to visit her gravesite….. It seemed harder than her actual burial. I know I will have more first without her, my first birthday without getting a card from her, my first Thanksgiving and Christmas visiting her. Her death has taught me is to appreciate the people God has placed in my life.
After I left the grave site I began to ride around Hollywood, SC and the surrounding area I made a few stops as I was riding.
.My Grandmother Baby Sister Weise Always willing to feed me and Bryce
One of My grandmother favorite Cousin Charlie. She is 98 and still full of life and Wisdom
I always believed that my grandmother and I had a very close, loving relationship. I always felt LOVED when I was in her presence. My grandmother was extremely independent, never complained about any problems she may have had. I learned a lot from her and will keep her spirit and love with me always. She alway reminded me when I was going through a problem " Dee , You have to TRUST GOD" Her words ring true in my heart today, because only GOD is helping me cope with this lost
I love you Momma
This is such a beautiful tribute! Her legacy will continue to live on in you and I know she is so proud of you. You are such a loving and devoted mother, daughter, friend and most of all to me a sister. I love you with all my heart and I thank you for all the things you have taught me, even when you didn’t know you were. I love you!!!
