Shanada Adams just completed her master’s degree in Social Work at the University of South Carolina - Columbia, with a specialization in health/mental health and certificate in drug and addictions. Currently, she is working as a graduate assistant on a pilot study known as the South Carolina Opioid Safety Initiative Military. This pilot study evaluates the effectiveness of medical education and interventions for physicians who treat military personnel, with prescription opioids. Outside of her research experience she is also a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving as an Aerospace Medical Technician. Her future goal is to obtain her PhD in Applied Health Research- Evaluation, with the aim of improving a wide variety of health delivery systems within the armed forces.
